| White Coasters, tapestry, recycled white wool woven on a 4" x 4" frame loom. |
| White Coasters is an ongoing tapestry project I started in March 2007. Each piece is approximately 4" x 4" and woven with white wool yarns. Every time I weave one, I try using different kinds of weft and warp and different weave patterns. I use the tapestry as a coaster for about a week; as I use them, coffee, tea, and other things leave marks on the coasters and become a part of the piece. |

| An Apple A Day, Cores (Month 315) |
| I dyed linen fabric with apple peels (which surprisingly came out yellow, although I had red apples) and discharged (bleached) the shapes of apple cores by screen printing. The cores are from the apples that I ate in the Month 315 (February 23 to March 22, 2007), and they are placed in a grid of a calendar (the weeks starting with Mondays). I did not eat apples every day, so the days I did not eat one remain blank. I chose linen because the first letter in a Chinese character (ma) of my first name means linen. |
